War of Weimar 153 – Interception

──Mechs vs. the Great Centipede──

Van Helsing frowned, staring at the battlefield data.

“Matt… are you done calculating yet?”

Matt rapidly switched the display, voice tense.

“It keeps regenerating itself. Every area we hit gets rebuilt—and even reinforced. Attacking the same spot is useless.”

He suddenly paused.

On the screen—

The area Vincent had struck earlier… had not regenerated.

Matt’s eyes sharpened.

“Vincent! Hit the same spot again!”

Vincent gritted his teeth.

“Impossible… it’s moving too fast!”

Carlo turned back.

“What did you find, Matt?”

Matt’s mind raced as he analyzed the data.

“I think… electricity slows its regeneration!”

Carlo responded immediately.

“I’ll handle it.”

──Aerial Front──

Air Master transformed instantly into mech form. Shoulder cannons deployed, unleashing sustained bombardment.

Matt switched to thermal imaging, tracking every impact point.

As expected—

Areas struck by electrical discharge regenerated significantly slower.

Finks shouted:

“Carlo! Move!”

But Air Master continued full output fire, ignoring the centipede’s counterattacks.

Then—

A sudden strike.

The centipede lunged.

Air Master failed to evade in time—

Its right arm and shoulder exploded mid-air.

The machine spun violently through the sky.

Akashi piloted “Volcan” and rushed in, catching the falling Air Master.

But the centipede did not stop.

It pursued them relentlessly.

Finks, Parker, and Kirk ascended, firing directly at the creature’s head.

In the distance—

Carlo locked onto the battlefield.

“Akashi! Move left!”

Akashi immediately understood.

Volcan and Air Master crossed paths mid-air.

At the exact intersection—

Two units were already waiting: Crocodile and Hound, fully deployed with dual cannons.

Carlo ordered:

“Now!”

Four beam cannons fired simultaneously.

Straight into the centipede’s face.

Matt followed up instantly.

“Vincent! Electricity!”

Electric King raised dual shoulder plasma cannons and unleashed full output.

Lightning intertwined with beam fire, engulfing the battlefield in blue-white destruction.

──Rear Cave System──

Winston stood before the shattered wall broken by Hank.

On the front line, Gabriel could not intervene.

Even Matt’s “Gabriel Heavy Assault Unit” remained confined to command support.

Winston looked at the fractured rock face.

Hank, Max, and Jackson were on the other side.

Then—

A stone fell.

A blade sliced through the wall.

The structure cracked open.

Winston immediately stepped back.

“Icestone!! Simon!”

Simon blinked.

“Huh? Who—?”

Hank’s voice came through the breach.

“Signal’s up. Looks like we broke through.”

Winston asked quickly.

“You guys alright?”

Hank replied calmly.

“Yeah. Step back—we’re starting bombardment.”

Artillery fire followed immediately, blasting the wall apart.

Six mechs emerged from the smoke.

Vance, Moses, and Simon were all present, with piles of monster corpses behind them.

Winston exhaled.

“…Good.”

──Main Battlefield: Great Centipede──

Focused fire finally pierced through the creature’s mouth.

But regeneration began again immediately.

The centipede twisted its body, wrapping the damaged area into a hardened core.

Matt shouted:

“Stop it!!”

All units intensified their assault.

Legs were shattered one after another, but the circular core kept tightening.

Akashi, Parker, Kirk, Carlo, and Vincent continued aerial bombardment.

Others climbed terrain for higher firing angles.

Smoke filled the battlefield completely.

Matt stared at the feed, unblinking.

“Don’t break… don’t you dare break…”

Matt suddenly shouted:

“Scatter in the air!!!”

Too late.

The centipede’s head burst through the smoke and charged straight toward Electric King.

The other four mechs rushed in pursuit.

Sander spoke quietly.

“Don’t forget us.”

Van Helsing and Black launched a simultaneous strike from the creature’s abdomen.

A pincer attack disrupted its balance.

Electric King was forcibly thrown free.

Air Master and Volcan rushed in and caught Vincent mid-fall.

But—

Vincent was already unconscious.

The battlefield fell into a heavy silence.

Their strongest electrical attacker had fallen.

Finks gritted his teeth.

“Matt… do you have any plan left?”

After a long pause, Matt answered quietly.

“…No. Based on current analysis, the probability of victory is zero.”

Then—

Hank’s voice cut in.

“What if I told you… there is still a way?”

Matt turned.

Hank stood there with Lightning Command, Thunder God, Ice Stone, Desert Bastion, and Thunder Sand all deployed.

Moses waved.

“You promised me a chance to shine this time—don’t break that promise!”

Max smirked.

“Of course.”

Hank looked at Matt.

“What’s the win probability now?”

Matt stared at the battlefield… then at Lightning Command.

“…One hundred percent.”

Hank raised his command insignia.

“Then take command.”

He turned toward the army.

“All units—”

Interception. Begin.
